About Kevin
Kevin Scott Ramos has been a professional photographer for more than 15 years. After graduating from the Colorado Institute of Art, Kevin moved back to Chicagoland to work with Dennis Manarchy, Bill Tucker and many other photographers. Currently Kevin works for Sierra Studio and has fine tuned his art there for the last 11 years. Kevin now wants to share his talents by providing people with truly unique and creative photography.

Kevin specializes in contemporary, lifestyle photography with the goal of creating natural, creative and genuine images.
In striving to capture the honesty of real life, I keep the sessions as flexible and open as possible. I prefer relaxed and natural environments where each unique child or adult feels comfortable and at ease. Often this means you will see me running around and playing with the kids and just having fun. I work around your schedule, stopping for snacks and rest periods or whatever comes our way. As a father to a 4 year old and a 1 year old, I understand how this can be a stressful experience. I work hard to avoid this. Some Details
Phone Consultation: Before the shoot, we will discuss ideas, location(s), clothing,
and any concerns we may have. In this way we will be more prepared on shoot day.
Locations: Your home, beaches, parks and forest preserves are all great locations, but please keep in mind that location is only secondary to the person being photographed and most backgrounds can be photographed out of focus if they don't help the image. If we set-up studio in your home, a larger room that allows us to move furniture back and at least 15'x15' works best. We bring the studio to you, backgrounds, lights and all.
Frequently asked Questions
What type/color of clothing should my kid(s) wear for the session?
Bright solid colors as well as Earth-tones all work well. Try to avoid busy patterns, prints and large logos which can tend to be distracting. Denim overalls with no shoes and shirt works well with the young ones. Bare feet are always cute. If shoes are preferred, try ones without prints and busy designs, especially on the bottoms. Feel free to have several changes of clothing.
What is the best time of day for natural light photographs?
The best time is when the sun is low in the sky. Usually that means up to 2 hours after sunrise and 2 hours before sunset. This type of lighting is "warm" in tone and provides the best angle and shape for the face.
What about weather?
If it's overcast and bright, it's ok.Typically I prefer some sun especially low in the sky, but beautiful softly lit images can be made when it's overcast as well. If its overcast, time of day is not so much an issue like it is when the sun is out. If it is rainy, we have two options, reschedule the shoot or shoot indoors.
What if I'm not happy with my portraits?
Not to worry! My work is 100% satisfaction guaranteed. If you are not satisfied with the images, when you see the proofs, I will be happy to reshoot them for you.

Standard Portrait and Lifestyle Session
$199+travel weekdays
$250+travel weekends
These sessions are for up to 4 people ($25 each additional person) and usually will last between 1 and 2 hours.
15-40 images will be presented in a private on-line gallery usually within 2 weeks from the day of the shoot.
Simple Business Headshots

These are usually photographed on a traditional portrait background or solid sweep. This price includes a CD with 3-4 images of each person.
Band and Publicity Sessions:

These sessions are for up to 4 people ($25 each additional person).
Half day sessions are usually good for about 2-3 different looks.
50-125 images will be presented in the form of contact sheets (or Low-Res jpegs on CD) usually within 2 weeks from the day of the shoot.
Full day sessions are usually good for about 3-6 different looks.
60-250 images will be presented in the form of contact sheets (or Low-Res jpegs on CD) usually within 2 weeks from the day of the shoot.

Image Retouching - $8/ea - Retouching is optional but recommended for all final prints/images. All blemishes, wrinkles and imperfections will be softened or removed.
